Liz Bodensteiner Reaches Another Milestone!

Tops 1000 rebounds

Senior basketball player Liz Bodensteiner continued her amazing week by picking up the 1,000th rebound of her career.  It came at a home game with Red Lake County Central on Thursday, February 9. Liz needed five rebounds entering the game and finished with ten, hitting the 1,000 mark shortly before halftime.

Liz broke the all-time school record a few games ago and now is the only Bear player ever to have 1,000 rebounds and 2,000 points!

The previous rebound record holder was Chris Westrum with 969 rebounds.  Chris presented the game ball to Liz after she reached 1,000.

Prior to the game, Liz was presented the game ball from the previous game where she had broken the all-time school record when she reached 2,000 points.  The previous record holder was Jeff Brunsberg with 1,997.  Jeff sent a letter of congratulations which was read during the presentation.

Liz's varsity career has spanned 4 years.  She joined the varsity during her 9th grade year and became a starter in 10th grade.  Consistency and preparation describe Liz.  She works hard at her game and is a great all-around player, not only routinely being a top scorer and rebounder but also picking up many steals and assists.  Liz is also very active in all school activities and is a 4.0 student.  She recently was chosen to perform a solo at the Honor Band performance, displaying her top musical ability.  Liz also is active in the community, routinely volunteering for many activities.  The best part is, Liz is just a great young woman!

Congratulations Liz!  Thanks for representing our school and community with class and grace!
