Three CG Bears are Section Champions in track!!
CG sent 10 athletes to the Section track meet on June 1.
We had some outstanding performances!!
Josiah Hubbard repeated as the 300 meter hurdle champion with a time of 40.60.
Josiah also got 3rd in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.58. He missed qualifying for state by 2 one-hundreths of a second!
Danae' Stenzel won the discus with a throw of 112' 1" which is a new school record, breaking her own record of 108' 9".
Danae' also finished 4th in the shot put with a throw of 35' 2"
Ethan Dorman won the high jump with a new school record height of 6' 4.25" breaking the old record of 6' 4" held by Bryan Westrum and Ethan Dorman.
Ethan also finished 8th in the 100 meter dash but was injured during the race so he was unable to compete the rest of the day and is unable to compete at the state meet.
Other placewinners were:
4 x 100 boys relay finished 5th. Runners were Hunter Ehlers, Josiah Hubbard, Jonny Hamnes, Levi Nelson (replaced the injured Ethan Dorman)
Jackielynn Taflin got 6th in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.77.
Hunter Ehlers finished 8th in the long jump with a jump of 19' 4".
Levi Nelson finished 8th in the discus with a throw of 125' 11".

Josiah and Danae' will compete at the state meet this weekend, June 7 & 8.
Josiah will run his preliminary race of the 300 hurdles at 5:35 pm on Friday.
If he qualifies for the finals he will run at 6:21 on Saturday.
Danae' will compete in the discus at 4:45 pm on Friday.
