Clearbrook-Gonvick School Board Approves November Referendum Question
The Clearbrook‑Gonvick School District Board of Education has unanimously approved ballot language for a referendum question that will appear on the November ballot.
Facility Needs
The board approved the referendum request in response to needs determined in a 2023 facilities study by an architectural firm. The study found the physical condition of the building was overall in good to fair condition as the facility was constructed and opened in 2003. However, changing educational standards, space needs, and long‑term maintenance needs necessitated a closer look at the facilities’ needs.
The Plan
The school district proposes a construction project to address long‑term maintenance, safety and security and space needs. A bond levy with a 20- year term is proposed. If approved, property owners could expect to pay $15 a month in additional property taxes on an average $175,000 home.
Key Details
- Bond term: 20 years
- Monthly cost: $15 on a $175,000 home
